How to Install TWRP on Redmi 8A?

1. Enable Developer options on your phone.
2. Then enable USB debugging and OEM unlock insisde developer options.
3. Connect the Redmi 8A to the PC using the USB cable and install required USB driver
4. Install the 15 seconds adb installer and the minimal adb and fastboot for Windows or Linux or MAC as per the PC you have
5. Reboot the Redmi 8A into bootloader mode and Unlock bootloader of Redmi 8A
6. Then, on your PC, go to the directory where you have downloaded the TWRP for Redmi 8A and then open the command console or terminal on this directory on your PC.

   [su_note note_color=”#D7E3F4″ text_color=”#728095″ radius=”3″ class=”” id=””]- To open a command window on Windows OS in the current directory, press shift + Right Click anywhere on Windows explorer, or some folder.
   – Then on the menu opened, just press the “w” key on the keyboard or select “Open command window here” to open a command window.[/su_note]

7. Now connect your phone to the PC using a USB cable, if not connected yet.
8. Enter the following command on the opened command window: adb reboot bootloader to put your phone into bootloader mode where you can flash/install TWRP for Redmi 8A.

9. Flash the vbmeta image to the vbmeta partition.

10. Reboot into fastboot mode execute the following command on the console: fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.3.x.x-xxx.img

11. Wait for the fastboot command to finish installing TWRP on Redmi 8A.
    Once it is done, execute the below command:fastboot oem reboot-recovery

12. From TWRP, disable encryption and flash the Disable Force Encryption zip file

    – Then you flash the Disable Force Encryption zip file so that the system will not encrypt it again.[/su_note]

Micromax Yu Yuphoria was recently released to market and today we have CWM custom recovery and Yu yuphoria rooting guide in hand. A custom recovery is the world to some beautiful custom ROMs and to ROOT your device. If you agree with me then you do understand the need of a custom recovery for a device. Although this device comes with CyanogenMod pre-loaded out-of-box but there are also some other good ROMs you can try on your device and you can enjoy the benefits of rooting a device.

After installing TWRP recovery you can install many android mods such as GCam APK, enable navigation gesture, enable face unlock, viper4android etc. and many more.

WARNING:
Installing custom recovery on your device may VOID your warranty and may delete all your data.
Before proceeding further you may consider backup your all data.
Understand the fact that you are the only person responsible for everything that you do with you device.
If you blame me for a disaster that happened to your device then I will simply laugh at you.

Before going into details make sure that you have the following things in hand to start with the installation guide.
Required things:
– CWM custom recovery for Yu Yuphoria
– Fastboot and adb binaries
– Latest SuperSU Flashable package by chainfire
– USB cable and USB drivers (USB drivers will be automatically installed on a Windows machine after connecting the device using usb cable)
– Enough time with a smart and cool brain

STEP by STEP ROOTing guide for your Yu Yuphoria:

The complete process will be split into three things as following:

• Unlocking the Bootloader
• Installing a custom recovery
• Installing the ROOT package using a custom recovery

Unlocking the Bootloader:

STEP 1:

Turn the phone off.
Then boot it into the bootloader/fastboot mode by holding volume up + volume down + power.

STEP 2:

Open a command console and go to the directory where you have extracted adb and fastboot
Type the following command in the console:

$ fastboot devices

NOTE:
This command will list the connected devices.
If your phones serial number shows up you are good to go and may continue.
If the phone is NOT listed this indicates that your drivers are not installed correctly.
In order for you to continue you must configure your drivers properly so that your phone is listed under fastboot devices.

STEP 3:

If the phone has been recognized by the command above, proceed to unlocking the bootloader with the following command:

$ fastboot oem unlock

WARNING:
Remember that this step will wipe EVERYTHING off the phone.

Flashing a Custom Recovery:

STEP 1:

Find out the appropriate custom recovery for your device.
Copy the custom recovery into the directory where you have kept the adb and fastboot files.

STEP 2:

Now type the following command to install the custom recovery image onto your Yu Yuphoria:

$ fastboot flash recovery <recovery_image_file.name>

Place the recovery image name in the <recovery_image_file.name> field.

$ fastboot reboot

Yu Yuphoria Rooting guide:

NOTE:
Rooting guide will only work only after the custom recovery installation.
If you will SKIP the custom recovery installation process and perform only these steps then rooting will not be done.

STEP 1:

Copy the SuperSu zip file to your phone (By using a USB cable or via adb push command).

STEP 2:

After copying the SuperSu zip file to your SD card you have to go to the recovery and there you have to install this zip file.
Press vol up + vol down + power button to go to recovery

Or use the following command in a command console:

$ adb reboot recovery

STEP 3:

Select Install zip from sdcard option in your recovery.
Select the SuperSu binary zip file where you have kept in the SD card.

• TWRP recovery for Nexus 5x

  – Here is the TWRP update guide for Nexus 5x. This recovery guide requires an unlocked bootloader on the phone.

• GApps for LineageOS 15 Oreo ROM

Root binary is NOT inbuilt in Lineage OS ROM, so you may need a separate SuperSu package or LineageOS su binary to install to gain ROOT access. Here is Lineage OS Rooting guide
If there is no in-built ROOT or it does not work for some reason then you can try SuperSU rooting guide to enable ROOT access.

HOW TO INSTALL/DOWNLOAD/FLASH/UPDATE THE Lineage OS 15 for Nexus 5x:

Follow this if you are flashing LineageOS 15 for Nexus 5x for the first time, or coming from another ROM:

Points to NOTE:
– Try to avoid restoring apps backup using Titanium Backup. It may break things up.
– Don’t restore system data using Titanium Backup! It will definitely break the current installation.
– It is also discouraged to Restoring Apps + Data using Titanium Backup.

• Boot into Recovery.
  Make sure to have a Custom recovery like CWM or TWRP or any other custom recovery. If not then download the recovery for Nexus 5x from above link and follow the Custom Recovery Installation Guide (it’s a generic guide which will work for TWRP as well as CWM recovery or any other recovery)
• Wipe data factory reset, Cache partition, Dalvik Cache and Format the System partition.
  – Here is a guide explaining how to wipe data using TWRP recovery.

  This will delete all your data on your phone. You may consider complete backup of your phone data or take a NANDROID backup of the current ROM

• Download and extract the boot.img file to your pc. Boot the phone in fastboot mode and execute the following to flash the boot image file:
  fastboot flash boot boot.img


  This requires Fastboot to be installed on your PC:

• Then download and Copy the Oreo GApps and the LineageOS 15 ROM ZIP to the phone.
• First flash the Lineage OS 15 ROM ZIP file from device. Then flash the GApps zip from your device memory.

• Then reboot into recovery (don’t skip this) and flash the Gapps for LineageOS 15 package.

Upgrading from earlier version of Lineage OS 15 for Nexus 5x (bullhead):

• Copy the latest Lineage OS 15 for Nexus 5x ZIP file to the phone.
• Boot into Recovery.
• Flash the ROM ZIP that you copied.

3. Wipe the system partition from the TWRP recovery menu.
4. Install the Redmi Note 6 Pro LineageOS 17 update.
