    For various reasons you may want to flash a stock ROM/Firmware to factory reset a phone. Here is how to flash a stock ROM/Firmware on a Mediatek phone using SP Flash Tool.

    To be able to flash the stock ROM Firmware, you actually need to have the firmware files and most importantly the scatter file for your Mediatek phone.

    Well, I will add appropriate firmware links for a specific Mediatek Device in it’s respective firmware update guide. This is a generic guide to flash stock ROM/firmware using SP Flash Tool for any Mediatek device.

    Flash Stock ROM Firmware Using SP Flash Tool on Mediatek

    Installing a stock firmware using SP Flash Tool may erase all data. Backup if needed.[/su_note]

    REQUIRED DOWNLOADS TO FLASH STOCK FIRMWARE ON A MEDIATEK PHONE USING SP FLASH TOOL:

    HOW TO FLASH MEDIATEK STOCK FIRMWARE USING SP FLASH TOOL:

    [su_note note_color=”#D7E3F4″ text_color=”#728095″ radius=”3″ class=”” id=””]This guide is for SP Flash Tool and will work for both Windows and Linux PC as SP Flash Tool is available for both OS types.[/su_note]

    1. Download and extract the stock firmware files.
    2. Download and install the VCOM driver on your PC.

      [su_note note_color=”#D7E3F4″ text_color=”#728095″ radius=”3″ class=”” id=””]VCOM driver is required for the SP Flash Tool to recognize your Mediatek Phone.[/su_note]

    3. Download and extract the SP Flash Tool zip file.
    4. Go to the extracted SP Flash Tool folder and open the flash_tool.exe file, which is the actual SP Flash Tool application.

      See the below screenshot:

    5. By default the SP Flash Tool would have opened on the Download Tab. If not then click on the Download Tab and then click on the choose button to load an appropriate scatter file.

      [su_note note_color=”#D7E3F4″ text_color=”#728095″ radius=”3″ class=”” id=””]- You will find a scatter file with a name of somewhat MT8163_Android_scatter.txt in the stock firmware package.
      – This scatter file contains all the partition information of your Mediatek Device and which file to flash on a certain partition.[/su_note]

    6. After that a file browser will be opened to find and select the scatter file for your Mediatek phone.
      Go to the stock firmware folder where you have extracted, select the Scatter file (MT8163_Android_scatter.txt) from there and click on Open.

    7. After loading the scatter file, click on the Download button to start downloading the stock firmware to your Mediatek phone.

      [su_note note_color=”#D7E3F4″ text_color=”#728095″ radius=”3″ class=”” id=””]- SP Flash Tool automatically takes all the information and will show you the details below. Verify all the details here before start flashing the stock ROM or the stock firmware on your Mediatek phone.
      – Verify the download mode before flashing (marked by number 1 in the screenshot).
      – Verify which all partitions are being flashed (marked by number 2 in the screenshot). MAKE SURE THERE IS NO NVRAM OR IMEI PARTITION SELECTED HERE.[/su_note]

    8. Now turn off your Mediatek Phone and wait for a few seconds.
      Then you hold both the volume up and Volume Down button and connect the phone PC using a USB cable.

      – You see in the SP Flash tool, it will start downloading the firmware to the Mediatek Phone automatically.

    9. After the stock ROM is flashed successfully, you will see a Download OK confirmation on SP Flash Tool.

    After successfully flashed the stock firmware or the stock ROM on your Mediatek phone, you can disconnect the phone and restart if it does not restart automatically.

    How to create scatter file for Singtech Infinity L1:

    This guide need the Droid MTK Tool. With the help of Droid MTK Tool we will create the scatter file for Singtech Infinity L1.

    1. Download the Droid MTK Tool from the above Downloads section.
    2. It’s in a zip file, so extract that file or open using WinRar or some application and then open the MTKDroidTools.exe file.

    3. Enable USB Debugging under Developer Options on the Singtech Infinity L1; to make the device accessible via ADB.

      – If you don’t know how to do this then here is How to Enable Developer Options and How to Enable USB Debugging and OEM unlock.

    4. Then connect the phone using the USB cable to the PC.

      – When you connect the phone to the PC, MTKDroidTool will show all the information about your phone.

    5. On the below portion of the screen you will see a Blocks Map button. Click on the button
    6. On the next screen you have all the partition information and starting address of all the partitions of Singtech Infinity L1.
      On the bottom of the screen you see a Create scatter file button.

      – Click on the button to create scatter file for Singtech Infinity L1.

    7. Save the scatter file for Singtech Infinity L1 in a location which you can remember and access easily.

    Now Install TWRP on Singtech Infinity L1 using SP Flash Tool:

    TWRP recovery download to a Mediatek phone is done by SP Flash tool, which uses a scatter file to know which address the recovery partition starts.
    Make sure you have downloaded the SP Flash tool and created the scatter file for Singtech Infinity L1.

    Follow the below steps to install the TWRP on Singtech Infinity L1 using the scatter file.

    1. Open the SP Flash tool zip file and then open the flash_tool.exe file.
    2. Click browse on the the scatter-loading file section and select the Singtech Infinity L1 scatter file you created earlier using the MTKDroid Tool.

      After selecting the scatter file, the SP Flash tool application automatically find available partitions and other details.

    3. Now select the location next to the Recovery partition and select the TWRP for Singtech Infinity L1, which is in .img format.

    5. After clicking on the download button you will see a red bar on the bottom followed by a yellow bar.
      When the TWRP is downloaded to Singtech Infinity L1, the SP Flash tool will alert you saying Download is done.

    That’s all.

    What to do after you install TWRP for Singtech Infinity L1:

    • You can root the Singtech Infinity L1
    • You can install one of the custom ROMs available for Singtech Infinity L1
    • You can install some of the mods available on Singtech Infinity L1

    Well, this isn’t it. You can install customized themes, sound mods, Xposed modules etc. after installing the TWRP for Singtech Infinity L1.
    TWRP recovery is the gateway to many goodies for your phone.

    Now, if you want to ROOT Singtech Infinity L1 then below is a step-by-step by guide for the same.

    • Download the latest SuprSU ROOT for Singtech Infinity L1 or one of the following:

     

    IMPORTANT NOTE:
    • Your phone will not be rooted just by installing the SuperSU APK file on your Android phone.
    • SuperSU APK Free or Pro version is just a SuperSU ROOT management application.
    • The SuperSU APK Free or Pro app will ONLY work if you have already ROOTED your Android Phone.

     

    Step-by-Step guide on how to ROOT Singtech Infinity L1 using SuperSU or Magisk zip file:

     

    1. Download and copy the SuperSU or Magisk ROOT file to Singtech Infinity L1. (I hope you have already downloaded the files from the above downloads section)
    2. Now restart the Singtech Infinity L1 to boot into TWRP recovery.
    3. Then, Select the Install from TWRP home screen, then select the SuperSU ROOT zip file from the file browser.
    4. Flash or install the SuperSU or Magisk for Singtech Infinity L1, by Sliding the Swipe to Confirm Flash on TWRP screen.
    5. Wait for TWRP to flash the SuperSU or the Magisk. Once the flashing is done just reboot your device.
    6. Profit!!! You should now have a Singtech Infinity L1 ROOT enabled phone.

    How to check if ROOT is enabled on Singtech Infinity L1 or NOT?

    Install the ROOT checker app from the Play Store and verify if your phone is ROOTED or not.

    REQUIRED LINKS AND FILES FOR Ulefone Metal LineageOS 14.1 NOUGAT CUSTOM ROM:

    Root binary is inbuilt in LineageOS 14.1, so you don’t need a separate SuperSu package to install to gain ROOT access. Here is How to Enable ROOT on LineageOS 14.1
    If there is no in-built ROOT or it does not work for some reason then you can try flashing SuperSU zip using recovery to gain ROOT access.

    HOW TO INSTALL/DOWNLOAD/FLASH/UPDATE LineageOS 14.1 FOR Ulefone Metal NOUGAT CUSTOM ROM:

    1. Follow this if you are flashing LineageOS 14.1 for Ulefone Metal (metal) for the first time, or coming from another ROM:

      Points to NOTE:
      – Try to avoid restoring apps backup using Titanium Backup. It may break things up.
      – Don’t restore system data using Titanium Backup! It will definitely break the current installation.

    I need your help, I can’t find any ROM Android 8.0 / 8.1 for my phone:

    UMIDIGI Plus E

    Processor: MediaTek Helio P20 MT6757

    I found here how to flash on Mediatek phones and how to create Scartter file.

    Just can’t found any ROM for my phone.

    How to install TWRP recovery on a Motorola phone:

    The TWRP recovery for a Motorola phone is available in .img file extension
    – To flash TWRP custom recovery on any Motorola phone, first, the bootloader has to be unlocked and then the .img TWRP file has to be flashed using a fastboot.

    – Here is how to unlock bootloader on Motorola phone.
    – After unlocking the bootloader flash the .img TWRP file using the following guide. The following guide is a generic guide that applies for all .img extension files regardless of Motorola or any other OEM:
