    Android Nougat was released on August 22 but Nexus 7 Android Nougat was missing. But after the Android Nougat Source code release now the Nexus 7 Android Nougat AOSP ROM is available unofficially which is brought to you by developer zaclimon and DevSwift1. Every Nexus 7 user must be thankful to the developers for their priceless efforts and lightning fast development.

    INSTALL/FLASH NEXUS 7 NOUGAT ROM (ANDROID 7.0 AOSP ROM)

    THIS IS JUST AN ALPHA ROM AND CANNOT BE USED AS A DAILY DRIVER SOFTWARE. CHECK THE WORKING AND NON-WORKING LIST BEFORE FLASHING AND PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK.

    DISCLAIMER:

    REQUIRED DOWNLOADS AND LINKS FOR NEXUS 7 NOUGAT AOSP ROM:

    Make sure you have a Linux/Windows PC or a MAC installed with Fastboot and adb binaries. If not then you can follow one of the following guides based on your PC OS:
    – 15 Seconds ADB Installer for Windows
    – Minimal ADB and Fastboot for Windows
    ADB Fastboot Installation guide for Linux or MAC

     

    DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL/FLASH NEXUS 7 NOUGAT ROM (ANDROID 7.0 AOSP ROM):

    1. Download the Nexus 7 Nougat AOSP ROM zip file and a suitable Nougat Gapps zip file from the above download link and copy both the files to phone.
    2. Boot into Recovery by one of the following method:
      – Power off the phone and keep pressing key combinations: Power Button + Volume Down while turning on your Nexus.
      – If you have enabled USB debugging and you have ADB utility installed on your PC then you can execute the following command on a console or command prompt:

      adb reboot recovery

      If you don’t have a custom recovery on Nexus 7 then you can follow this guide:

    3. Wipe data factory reset, Cache partition, Dalvik Cache and Format the System partition using the recovery.
      – Here is a guide explaining how to wipe data using TWRP recovery.

      This will delete all your data on your phone. IGNORE IF YOU DON’T WANT TO OR IF YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE THIS. You may consider complete backup of your phone data or take a NANDROID backup of the current ROM.
      – How to backup all data on your Android Device.
      – how to take NANDROID backup using TWRP recovery.

    4. First flash the Nexus 7 Nougat ROM ZIP from device.

    5. Now flash the Google Apps package.

    Make sure that you have the the bootloader unlocked and installed a custom recovery. If you don’t have a custom recovery then follow the below link:

    Flashing CyanogenMod 12.1 for Galaxy Nexus:

    Consider taking a backup of your OLD ROM before installing this new ROM.

    STEP 1:

    Copy the ROM and GApps package to your phone.

    STEP 2:

    Enter into the custom recovery.
    Do a Factory Reset/Wipe Data and Cache partition.

    STEP 3:

    Install the ROM and Gapps recovery flashable zip packages using the custom recovery.

    STEP 4:

    Reboot your phone to enjoy the CyanogenMod 12.1 for Galaxy Nexus phone.

    SuperSU is no more needed because it is embedded in CyanogenMod 12.1. To enable SuperSU you just need to enable developer options and there you will find the Root access option.

    That’s all guys. This is a beta build and an unofficial build. An unofficial build means you will not get daily updates and OTA updates, but do not worry Ziyan is releasing the builds frequently.     4. ADB sideload the crDroid 6.5 zip file
      (or)
      If ADB sideload is not working on recovery, just flash the zip using TWRP or any other recovery.
    5. Then ADB Sideload the Android 10 Gapps zip file.

    6. Once done, reboot and Enjoy Android 10 with Pixel Experience, on your Nexus 6P.

    Upgrade crDroid 6.5 on Nexus 6P:

    1. Download and keep the latest crDroid 6.5 zip file built for Nexus 6P on your PC
    2. Boot into TWRP recovery
    3. Wipe the system partition from the custom recovery menu.
    4. ADB sideload the crDroid 6.5 zip file
      (or)
      If ADB sideload is not working on recovery, just flash the zip using TWRP or any other recovery.
    5. Reboot and see if you have the GApps and ROOT access or NOT (if you installed previously).

    6. If you don’t have GApps after upgrading the Android 10 on the phone, then flash or ADB sideload the GApps again.

    How to Root Nexus 6P on crDroid 6.5?

    After installing crDroid 6.5 on Nexus 6P you may want to enable ROOT access on your phone and here is how you can do that:

    – crDroid Rooting guide (this is for LineageOS 17.1 but should work fine on crDroid 6.5 Android 10)

    Android M for Galaxy Nexus is right here. Cheers to all Galaxy Nexus users! This Android 6.0 ROM is based on AOSP and built by (As usual) recognized developer Ziyan. Ziyan also built CyanogenMod 12 and CyanogenMod 12.1 for Galaxy Nexus.

    Galaxy Nexus Marshmallow ROM

    If you wanna taste Nougat then here is the Nougat ROM for Galaxy Nexus.

    Files needed for the Marshmallow ROM on Galaxy Nexus:

    SuperSU (Optional): SuperSU download link

    Make sure that you have the the bootloader unlocked and installed a custom recovery. If you don’t have a custom recovery then follow the below link before proceeding:
    RECOVERY: Installing custom recovery for Nexus phone.

    Flashing Galaxy Nexus Marshmallow ROM:

    Consider taking a backup of your OLD ROM before installing this new ROM.

    STEP 1:

    Copy the ROM and GApps package to your phone.

    STEP 2:

    Enter into the custom recovery and do a clean flash.
    Do a Factory Reset/Wipe Data, wipe system partition and Cache partition.

    STEP 3:

    Install the ROM and Gapps recovery flashable zip packages one after another using the custom recovery.

    STEP 4:

    Reboot your phone to enjoy the latest Android Marshmallow 6.0 on your Galaxy Nexus phone guys.

    If you want to install SuperSU, then follow the step 3 and 4 with the SuperSU zip file.

    REQUIRED LINKS AND FILES FOR LineageOS 15 for Nexus 6 OREO ROM:

    Root binary is NOT inbuilt in Lineage OS ROM, so you may need a separate SuperSu package or LineageOS su binary to install to gain ROOT access. Here is Lineage OS 15 Rooting guide

    If there is no in-built ROOT or it does not work for some reason then you can try SuperSU rooting guide to enable ROOT access.

    HOW TO INSTALL/DOWNLOAD/FLASH/UPDATE THE Lineage OS 15 for Nexus 6:

    Follow this if you are flashing LineageOS 15 for Nexus 6 for the first time, or coming from another ROM:

    Points to NOTE:
    – Try to avoid restoring apps backup using Titanium Backup. It may break things up.
    – Don’t restore system data using Titanium Backup! It will definitely break the current installation.
    – It is also discouraged to Restoring Apps + Data using Titanium Backup.

    • Boot into Recovery.
      Make sure to have a Custom recovery like CWM or TWRP or any other custom recovery. If not then download the recovery for Nexus 6 from above link and follow the Custom Recovery Installation Guide (it’s a generic guide which will work for TWRP as well as CWM recovery or any other recovery)
    • Wipe data factory reset, Cache partition, Dalvik Cache and Format the System partition.
      – Here is a guide explaining how to wipe data using TWRP recovery.

      This will delete all your data on your phone. You may consider complete backup of your phone data or take a NANDROID backup of the current ROM

    • Download and Copy the Oreo GApps and the LineageOS 15 ROM ZIP to the phone.
