BeanStalk ROM has delivered Android Marshmallow for Galaxy S (GT-I9000/M/T, Codename: galaxysmtd) users. This is an UNOFFICIAL build developed by sooti. BeanStalk ROM is basically built on top of CyanogenMod builds, which means it is basically a stock CyanogenMod ROM + some added features by the BeanStalk team.

Files needed to flash BeanStalk Marshmallow ROM for galaxy S:

Galaxy S BeanStalk Marshmallow ROM flashing guide:

STEP 1:

Extract the GApps after downloading.
Copy the BeanStalk ROM and extracted GApps zip file to your phone (By using a USB cable or via adb push command).

STEP 2:

Reboot your phone into recovery mode (Hole Volume UP + HOME + Power button while the phone is booting)
Or if you have a PC in hand with USB driver installed for your phone then type the following command to enter into recovery mode:

$ adb reboot recovery

STEP 3:

format data partition to f2fs and then Wipe data/factory reset.
This will delete all your data on your phone.
You may consider backing up your phone data or take a nandroid backup of complete ROM.

STEP 4:

Select the Install Zip from sdcard option.
Select the BeanStalk ROM zip and flash.

STEP 5:

Repeat STEP 4 to flash GApps.
Select the Install Zip from sdcard option again.
Select the Gapps zip and flash.

The flashing may take a while, so please be patient.
When it will be done you can reboot your phone and enjoy the BeanStalk ROM, Android Marshmallow for Galaxy S GT-I9000.

Samsung Galaxy TAB S2 8.0 SM-T715Y devices are getting official Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. Here is a very simple Step By Step guide to update the Marshmallow Update Manually on the Samsung Galaxy TAB S2 SM-T715Y (Panama). Just grab the Firmware update using the SamFirm utility or SamMobile or Samsung-Updates website as provided in the below section and then follow the manual OTA update process to get the latest Marshmallow update.

Before downloading the OTA and update the same manually, you should check if the OTA is available for your device or not.
To check for the OTA Update, Go to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Update -> Check for Update

 

DISCLAIMER:
Manually updating the firmware will WIPE EVERYTHING on your phone. Make sure you do a backup using a synchronization application or using Samsung Smart Switch or if you have TWRP installed then you can take a NANDROID backup using the TWRP itself. Upgrading a new version of LineageOS 16 for Galaxy S5 Mini (kminilte):

1. Copy the latest ROM zip file of LineageOS 16 for Galaxy S5 Mini, LineageOS 16 GApps and/or Magisk ROOT package to the phone
2. Boot into Recovery.

3. Format or wipe the system partition from the custom recovery menu.

   • Wipe data factory reset, Cache partition, Dalvik Cache and Format the System partition using the recovery.
     – Here is a guide explaining how to wipe data using TWRP recovery.

     This will delete all your data on your phone. IGNORE IF YOU DON’T WANT TO OR IF YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE THIS. You may consider complete backup of your phone data or take a NANDROID backup of the current ROM.

     – how to take NANDROID backup using TWRP recovery.

   • First flash the S2 Plus Nougat AOSP ZIP from device and then reboot to recovery AGAIN.
     – Here is a post explaining how to flash a custom ROM using TWRP recovery.
   • Now flash the Google Apps package.
     – Here is a post explaining how to flash GApps using TWRP recovery.

2. Upgrading from earlier version of AOSP Nougat 7.0 ROM on Galaxy S2 Plus variant:

   • Copy the latest Galaxy S2 Plus Nougat 7.0 ROM ZIP file to your phone.
   • Boot into Recovery.
   • Flash the latest Nougat ROM ZIP from your phone and wait till it finishes flashing.
     – Here is a post explaining how to flash a custom ROM using TWRP recovery.
   • After that, flash the Nougat Google Apps package.
     – Here is a post explaining how to flash GApps using TWRP recovery.
   • Reboot and Enjoy
