    How to Install Lineage OS 17.1 on Galaxy S4?

    First Time Installation of Galaxy S4 Lineage OS 17.1 –

    1. Boot into the TWRP Recovery to install this Galaxy S4 Lineage OS 17.1 Android 10 based custom ROM.
      [su_note note_color=”#D7E3F4″ text_color=”#728095″ radius=”3″ class=”” id=””]- Make sure to have a Custom recovery like a TWRP or Lineage recovery or any other custom recovery.
      – If not then download the TWRP or Lineage recovery from Downloads link and follow how to install TWRP on Samsung using ODIN (it’s a generic guide which will work for TWRP as well as any other recovery)[/su_note]

      Use Odin without “Auto Reboot” option to flash the TWRP.
      After flashing TWRP via Odin, manually reboot to TWRP recovery by holding the key combination of Vol UP + Home + Power.
      Don’t reboot to the stock image which restores the stock recovery.[/su_note]

    2. Wipe the data partition, Cache partition, and system partition.

    Root binary is inbuilt in Lineage OS 14.1, so you don’t need a separate SuperSu package to install to gain ROOT access. Here is How to Enable ROOT on Lineage OS 14.1
    If there is no in-built ROOT or it does not work for some reason then you can try flashing SuperSU zip using recovery to gain ROOT access.

    HOW TO INSTALL/DOWNLOAD/FLASH/UPDATE LINEAGE 14.1 FOR Galaxy S NOUGAT CUSTOM ROM:

    1. Follow this if you are flashing LineageOS 14.1 for Galaxy S for the first time, or coming from another ROM:

      Points to NOTE:
      – Try to avoid restoring apps backup using Titanium Backup. It may break things up.
      – Don’t restore system data using Titanium Backup! It will definitely break the current installation.
      – It is also discouraged to Restoring Apps + Data using Titanium Backup.

    Status of LineageOS 15 for Galaxy A5 Oreo ROM Download:

    – Camera: Preinstalled camera app can’t take videos. So, download a camera app from play store if you want to take videos (I use footej camera for example)

    Each release contains a zip with latest lineageos changes of the day when the zip is built and an odin-flashable twrp image which contains latest twrp changes, too

    As you can read in project’s readme, jenkins will automatically build a release the 10th day of every month

    The zip can be easily ported by creating an “old-style” zip instead of the lineage-built zip with .dat files.

    – Nougat and older twrp versions won’t be able to be install the rom and will give you an error!
    – So, don’t put your tears on me if you use an old twrp ;)
    Install twrp with odin or extract the tar and install the recovery.img file using terminal or whatever software
    Optional but good: Download and Install Oreo gapps Download for this LineageOS 15 ROM. (Without these, you won’t have google apps like play store or google services!)

    Upgrading from earlier version of LineageOS 15 for Galaxy A5 (SM-A500FU):

    HOW TO INSTALL CUSTOM RECOVERY TWRP 3.2.2 FOR Galaxy A6:

    Make Sure You have already done the below:
    Make sure that you have already downloaded all of the above mentioned files and done the following things:

    • Installed Samsung USB driver for your phone
    • Installed the ODIN application on your Windows PC
    • Enable OEM Unlock on your phone- In some newer Samsung phones like: Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ and later, you need to enable OEM Unlock option in Developer Options.- By default the Developer Options is hidden and you need to enable the Developer Options first. Go to the below link (the link will open in a new window), enable Developer options and come back to this page:
      How To Enable Developer Options– Now when you have enabled the Developer Options, go to the Developer Options and then enable the OEM Unlock option.

    HOW INSTALL TWRP 3.2.2 ON Galaxy A6 USING ODIN:

      1. Connect the Galaxy A6 to the PC using the USB cable and install required Samsung USB driver

     

      1. Restart the Galaxy A6 phone into download mode in order to install TWRP for Galaxy A6 using the ODIN application.
        Press and hold the below three buttons until you see a WARNING SCREEN! to enter into the Download mode:
        Volume DOWN key + Power key + Home key
        When you see the WARNING SCREEN press the volume UP key to continue into the Download mode.

     

      1. Open the ODIN application on your Windows PC and see the device is already connected
        – At this moment I believe your phone is already connected to the PC, if not, then Connect your phone (while it is still in the download mode) to the PC using a USB cable.
        – ODIN will show an Added! message on the message box with a port number on the top left screen of ODIN application.TROUBLESHOOTING:
        – If you don’t see an Added message and a port number, then try uninstall and re-install the Samsung Driver.
        – Try a different USB driver or Install Samsung Kies to install default Samsung Drivers.

      1. Then click on the AP button on the ODIN application and select the TWRP 3.2.2 for Galaxy A6 which might be in .tar or tar.md5 file extension
        Click on the AP button (PDA in many Odin versions) and select the TWRP 3.2.2 for Galaxy A6

      1. Select the appropriate options before flashing the twrp on Galaxy A6.
        Make sure only the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked and all other boxes are un-checked.

    1. Select the Start button, which will start the flashing process. When you get the PASS message, then your phone will reboot automatically

    What to do after you install TWRP for Galaxy A6:

    Now your Samsung Galaxy A6 is installed with the TWRP recovery and you may disconnect your phone. Here are some more guides using the TWRP recovery:

    Well, this isn’t it. You can install customized themes, sound mods, Xposed modules etc. after installing the TWRP on Galaxy A6.
    But before you can use the TWRP on Galaxy A6, you have to bypass the RMM lock.
    Follow the below step by step instructions to bypass RMM lock on Galaxy A6.

    How to flash RMM bypass zip on Galaxy A6 using TWRP 3.2.2 recovery:

    1. Restart the Galaxy A6 to boot into TWRP recovery.
    2. You need to decrypt the /data partition on the Galaxy A6- Go to Wipe>Format Data and follow the on-screen instructions.
    3. When /data partition is wiped, go the the TWRP home screen and reboot into TWRP recovery.
      – This time the /data partition would be mounted by TWRP. [THIS IS IMPORTANT]
    4. Now download and copy the no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip and RMM bypass.zip file to Galaxy A6. (You can download the files from the above downloads section)
    5. Then, Select the Install from TWRP home screen, then select the no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip file and RMM bypass zip file from the file browser.
    6. Flash or install both the zip file on Galaxy A6, by Sliding the Swipe to Confirm Flash on TWRP screen.Here is a screenshot how to flash the SuperSU ROOT (you replace with RMM patch) for Galaxy A6 via TWRP:

    7. Wait for TWRP to flash the no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip file and RMM bypass zip file on Galaxy A6. Once the flashing is done just reboot your device.

Here is a very simple Step By Step guide to update the T555XXU1BPDA Marshmallow Update Manually on the Samsung Galaxy TAB A SM-T555. Just grab the Firmware update using the SamFirm utility as explained in the below section and then follow the manual OTA update process to get the latest update.

    DISCLAIMER:
    Manually updating the firmware will WIPE EVERYTHING on your phone. Make sure you do a backup using a synchronization application or using Samsung Smart Switch or if you have TWRP installed then you can take a NANDROID backup using the TWRP itself.
