    Root binary is inbuilt in Resurrection Remix Marshmallow ROM, so you don’t need a separate SuperSu package to install to gain ROOT access. Here is How to Enable ROOT on Resurrection Remix ROM
    If there is no in-built ROOT or it does not work for some reason then you can try flashing SuperSU zip using recovery to gain ROOT access.

    STEP BY STEP GUIDE OF HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL TWRP FOR Mi 8 Lite:

     

    1. Connect the Mi 8 Lite to the PC using the USB cable and install required USB driver
    2. Install 15 Seconds ADB Installer or Minimal ADB and Fastboot on Windows or Linux or MAC as per the PC you have
    3. Reboot the Mi 8 Lite into bootloader mode and Unlock bootloader of Mi 8 Lite
    4. Then, on your PC, go to the directory where you have downloaded the TWRP for Mi 8 Lite and then open the command console or terminal on this directory on your PC.

    5. Now connect your phone to the PC using a USB cable, if not connected yet.
    6. Enter the following command on the opened command window:
      adb reboot bootloader

      to put your phone into bootloader mode where you can flash/install TWRP for Mi 8 Lite.

    7. Now when your phone is on the bootloader mode just execute the following command on the console:

      Once it is done, execute the below command:

      fastboot reboot recovery

      on the command console to start the phone in TWRP recovery.

      – Then you flash the Disable Force Encryption zip file so that the system will not encrypt it again.[/su_note]

    – Well, this is a very important aspect to enable ROOT for Mi 8 Lite. The SuperSU zip file is developed in a way to be installed via a TWRP recovery or other custom recovery. Stock recovery may not be able install this SuperSU or Magisk ROOT on Mi 8 Lite.[/su_note]
     

     

    IMPORTANT NOTE:
    • The Mi 8 Lite will not be rooted just by installing the SuperSU APK file on your Android phone.
    • SuperSU APK Free or Pro version is just a SuperSU ROOT management application.
    • The SuperSU APK Free or Pro app will ONLY work if you have already ROOTED your Android Phone.

     

    Step-by-Step guide on how to ROOT Mi 8 Lite using SuperSU or Magisk zip file:

     

    1. Download and copy the SuperSU or Magisk ROOT file and the no verity encrypt file to Mi 8 Lite. (I hope you have already downloaded the SuperSU zip file from the above downloads section)
    2. Now restart the Mi 8 Lite to boot into TWRP recovery.
    3. Then, Select the Install from TWRP home screen, then select the SuperSU ROOT zip file from the file browser.
    4. Flash or install the SuperSU or Magisk zip file for Mi 8 Lite, by Sliding the Swipe to Confirm Flash on TWRP screen.

      • Download and Copy the Nougat GApps and the LineageOS 14.1 Nougat ROM ZIP file built for Primo NF2, to the phone memory or SD card (if available).
      • First flash the LineageOS 14.1 Nougat ROM ZIP file from device. Then flash the GApps zip from your device memory.

      • Then reboot into recovery (don’t skip this) and flash the Gapps for LineageOS 14.1 package.

      • Reboot and Enjoy Android Nougat with LineageOS 14.1 for Primo NF2.

      Upgrading from earlier version of LineageOS 14.1 for Primo NF2 (nf2):

      Complete the initial setup and enjoy Android Nougat 8.0 with LineageOS 14.1 for Primo NF2. After the installing the LineageOS 14.1 ROM, you may want to enable ROOT access on your phone and here is how you can do that:
