    To everyone’s surprise, Android P DP1 (Developer Preview 1) is out and this is a post explaining how to update Android P DP1 for Google Pixel XL.

    This is a manual update process of Developer Preview of Android P for Google Pixel XL. Otherwise you will be able to get the Android P developer preview by enrolling to Android BETA program, which is not available for this update unfortunately.

    DISCLAIMER:
    Your phone will not get any OTA after updating to Android P DP1.
    Also, manually updating Android P DP1 for Google Pixel XL requires an unlocked bootloader on Google Pixel XL phone, which may VOID your warranty and may delete all your data.
    Before proceeding further you may consider backup all data on the phone. You are the only person doing changes to your phone and I cannot be held responsible for the mistakes done by YOU.

     

    Android P DP1 for Google Pixel XL

    STEP by STEP GUIDE TO INSTALL ANDROID P DEVELOPER PREVIEW 1 ON Google Pixel XL:

    If you don’t have an unlocked bootloader on your Google Pixel XL yet, then follow the below link to get it done:
    – Unlock bootloader on Google Pixel XL

    1. Make sure you have already unlocked the bootloader and downloaded the Android P DP1 image for Google Pixel XL to be installed, from the above downloads section.

      NOTE:
      The zip file comes in a package which might have similar to the following files:
      – bootloader image: bootloader-mako-makoz30d.img
      – radio image: radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1701.03.img
      – The actual Android system image: image-occam-ktu84p.zip
      – scripts for different platforms like Windows and linux that will flash all of the images by itself to your device.

    2. Put the phone into fastboot or bootloader mode.
      – Power off your phone and boot into fastboot by pressing and holding Power Button + Volume Down at the same time.
      – Press volume up or down button and select the power button when you see the Bootloader mode. After pressing power button you will be in Bootloader mode.
      – And then connect your phone to the PC using a USB cable (make sure USB drivers already installed and ADB FASTBOOT utilities must be installed as well).
    3. Run the flash-all.bat by double click on the script file.
      For linux users you have to run the flash-all.sh script file.

      Wait for the script till it flashes everything.

    Alternatively you can flash the images manually with the following commands:

    fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

    Here is how to enroll for Android P beta program and here is the supported devices for Android P beta program.

    IMPORTANT NOTE:

    If you have installed any of the Developer Preview on your phone then your phone will not get enrolled to Android P BETA program unless you do enroll for Android P BETA program for your device.

    Nexus 6 AICP Nougat 7.1 ROM is now available through UNOFFCIAL build. In addition to this here is the OFFICIAL Nexus 6 CM14.1. Earlier developers had brought the Nexus 6 CM14/CyanogenMod 14 Nougat 7.1 ROM, crDroid Nougat ROM. Here we have AICP for Nexus 6 Nougat 7.1 ROM brought to you by developer Miccia. In addition to this AICP ROM for Nexus 6 here we have a collection of Nougat ROMs for Nexus 6.

    Since Google released Android Nougat Source code, we have update many Android NOUGAT ROMs and also many CyanogenMod 14/CM14 ROMs updated and many are yet to come.

    Installing a custom ROM on a the Nexus 6 may require the bootloader to be unlocked on Nexus 6 and a Custom Recovery on Nexus 6. This update requires the bootloader of the phone to be unlocked which will delete all your data. Before proceeding further you may consider backup all data on the phone.     – Don’t restore system data using Titanium Backup! It will definitely break the current installation.
    – It is also discouraged to Restoring Apps + Data using Titanium Backup.

    1. Boot into Recovery by one of the following method:
      – Power off the phone and keep pressing key combinations while turning on your phone.
      – If you have enabled USB debugging and you have ADB utility installed on your PC then you can execute the following command on a console or command prompt:

      adb reboot recovery
    2. Wipe data factory reset, Cache partition, Dalvik Cache and Format the System partition using the recovery.
      – Here is a guide explaining how to wipe data using TWRP recovery.

      This will delete all your data on your phone. IGNORE IF YOU DON’T WANT TO OR IF YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE THIS. You may consider complete backup of your phone data or take a NANDROID backup of the current ROM.

      – how to take NANDROID backup using TWRP recovery.

    3. Download the Nexus 5 Android Oreo ROM zip file from the above download link and copy the files to phone.
    4. Flash the Nexus 5 RR Oreo ROM zip from device.
      – Here is a post explaining how to flash a ROM zip using TWRP.

    Upgrading from earlier version of Resurrection Remix Oreo for Nexus 5:

    1. Copy the latest ROM zip file of Resurrection Remix Oreo for Nexus 5 to your phone.
    2. Boot into Recovery.
    3. Flash the latest RR Oreo ROM ZIP from your phone and wait till it finishes flashing.
      – Here is a post explaining how to flash a custom ROM using TWRP recovery.
    4. Reboot and Enjoy

    To everyone’s surprise, Android P DP1 (Developer Preview 1) is out and this is a post explaining how to update Android P DP1 for Google Pixel 2.

    This is a manual update process of Developer Preview of Android P for Google Pixel 2. Otherwise you will be able to get the Android P developer preview by enrolling to Android BETA program, which is not available for this update unfortunately.

    DISCLAIMER:
    Your phone will not get any OTA after updating to Android P DP1.
    Also, manually updating Android P DP1 for Google Pixel 2 requires an unlocked bootloader on Google Pixel 2 phone, which may VOID your warranty and may delete all your data.
    Before proceeding further you may consider backup all data on the phone. You are the only person doing changes to your phone and I cannot be held responsible for the mistakes done by YOU.

    STEP by STEP GUIDE TO INSTALL ANDROID P DEVELOPER PREVIEW 1 ON Google Pixel 2:

    If you don’t have an unlocked bootloader on your Google Pixel 2 yet, then follow the below link to get it done:
    – Unlock bootloader on Google Pixel 2

    1. Make sure you have already unlocked the bootloader and downloaded the Android P DP1 image for Google Pixel 2 to be installed, from the above downloads section.NOTE:
      The zip file comes in a package which might have similar to the following files:
      – bootloader image: bootloader-mako-makoz30d.img
      – radio image: radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1701.03.img
      – The actual Android system image: image-occam-ktu84p.zip
      – scripts for different platforms like Windows and linux that will flash all of the images by itself to your device.
    2. Put the phone into fastboot or bootloader mode.
      – Power off your phone and boot into fastboot by pressing and holding Power Button + Volume Down at the same time.
      – Press volume up or down button and select the power button when you see the Bootloader mode. After pressing power button you will be in Bootloader mode.
      – And then connect your phone to the PC using a USB cable (make sure USB drivers already installed and ADB FASTBOOT utilities must be installed as well).
    3. Run the flash-all.bat by double click on the script file.
      For linux users you have to run the flash-all.sh script file.Wait for the script till it flashes everything.

    Alternatively you can flash the images manually with the following commands:

    fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

    FLASHING GALAXY NEXUS CM13 (CYANOGENMOD 13) MARSHMALLOW CUSTOM ROM:

    1. Follow this if you are flashing CyanogenMod 13 for the first time to your Galaxy Nexus (Maguro), or coming from another ROM:

      2. Points to NOTE:
      – Try to avoid restoring apps backup using Titanium Backup. It may break things up.
      – Don’t restore system data using Titanium Backup! It will definitely break the current installation.
      – It is also discouraged to Restoring Apps + Data using Titanium Backup.

    2. Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 13.0:

    The first boot may take long time, so don’t panic and be sure that you have enough battery backup. Let the phone reboot and then enjoy the official CyanogenMod 13 Marshmallow ROM on Galaxy Nexus (Maguro).
