Here is a very simple Step By Step guide to update the Marshmallow Update Manually on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge SM-G928F. Just grab the Firmware update using the SamFirm utility as explained in the below section and then follow the manual OTA update process to get the latest update.

    Samsung Galaxy TAB S2 SM-T817R4 US Cellular devices are getting official Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update.     Android AOSP 7.0 Nougat ROM for Galaxy S DUOS 2 (kyleprods, s7582) is now available through an unofficial AOSP ROM update and this is a guide which explains how to update Galaxy S DUOS 2(kyleprods, s7582) to Android Nougat 7.0. Since the Android Nougat Source code release, till now we have many Android Nougat ROMs available for various devices and also we have many CyanogenMod 14/CM14 ROMs. This time the Nougat ROM (build number: NRD90S) has arrived to Galaxy S DUOS 2 variant which is brought to you by developer ishant.

    Galaxy S DUOS 2 Nougat 7.0 AOSP ROM

    REQUIRED DOWNLOADS AND LINKS TO UPDATE GALAXY S DUOS 2 NOUGAT 7.0 AOSP ROM:

    HOW TO INSTALL/FLASH/UPDATE GALAXY S DUOS 2 NOUGAT 7.0 AOSP ROM (kyleprods, s7582):

    1. Follow this to update AOSP ROM Nougat 7.0 for S DUOS 2 for the first time or coming from another ROM:

      Points to NOTE on BACKUP:
      – Try to avoid restoring apps backup using Titanium Backup. It may break things up.
      – Don’t restore system data using Titanium Backup! It will definitely break the current installation.
      – It is also discouraged to Restoring Apps + Data using Titanium Backup.

      • Download the AOSP S DUOS 2 Nougat zip file and a suitable Nougat Gapps zip file from the above download link and copy both the files to phone.
      • Boot into Recovery by one of the following method:
        – Power off the phone and keep pressing key combinations while turning on your phone.
        – If you have enabled USB debugging and you have ADB utility installed on your PC then you can execute the following command on a console or command prompt:

        adb reboot recovery
      • Wipe data factory reset, Cache partition, Dalvik Cache and Format the System partition using the recovery.
        – Here is a guide explaining how to wipe data using TWRP recovery.

        This will delete all your data on your phone. IGNORE IF YOU DON’T WANT TO OR IF YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE THIS. You may consider complete backup of your phone data or take a NANDROID backup of the current ROM.

      • First flash the S DUOS 2 Nougat AOSP ZIP from device and then reboot to recovery AGAIN.

    2. Upgrading from earlier version of AOSP Nougat 7.0 ROM on Galaxy S DUOS 2 variant:

If you are flashing CyanogenMod for the first time then please be aware that this MAY VOID WARRANTY of your phone and may permanently damage your phone. This Galaxy Tab P1000 CM 13 CyanogenMod Marshmallow ROM is for Galaxy TAB p1000 and hence make sure on which you are flashing.

    Flashing Galaxy Tab P1000 CM13 CyanogenMod 13 Marshmallow ROM:

    1. Follow this if you are flashing CyanogenMod 13 for the first time to your Galaxy Tab P1000, or coming from another ROM:

      • Download and Copy the GApps and CyanogenMod ROM ZIP to your device.
      • Boot into Recovery. Make sure to have a Custom recovery like CWM or TWRP.
        If you don’t have a recovery then download it from the above link and follow the beolw guide to flash:
        How to Install TWRP on Samsung using Odin for the .tar TWRP file.
      • Wipe data factory reset, Cache partition, Dalvik Cache and Format the System partition. Here is a guide explaining how to wipe data using TWRP recovery.
      • First flash the CM ROM ZIP from device. Then flash the GApps zip from your device memory.
        – Here is a post explaining how to flash a custom ROM using TWRP recovery.
        Use the same guide to flash the GApps too.
      • Reboot and Enjoy the CyanogenMod 13 Marshmallow ROM on your Galaxy Tab P1000.
    2. This will delete all your data on your phone. You may consider backing up your phone data or take a nandroid backup. Here is how to take NANDROID backup using TWRP recovery.

      Points to NOTE:
      – Try to avoid restoring apps backup using Titanium Backup. It may break things up.
      – Don’t restore system data using Titanium Backup! It will definitely break the current installation.
      – It is also discouraged to Restoring Apps + Data using Titanium Backup.

    3. Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 13.0:

    The first boot may take long time, so don’t panic and be sure that you have enough battery backup. Let the phone reboot and then enjoy the official CyanogenMod 13 Marshmallow ROM on Galaxy Tab P1000.

    After this CM13 installation you may want to enable ROOT access on your phone and here is how you can do that:

    Hi Folks,

    I would like to update my Samsung  Galaxy Tab E (SM-T561) from 4.4.4 to  Lineageos 14.1 or 15.1 or 16.  Is that possible?  Thx.

    This ROM is the best so far for P1000 except that it is very limiting in terms of app use of user data. I think the problem is /data/data is mounted on mtdblock2 instead of the primary mmcblock0 where /data is mounted. The users of this ROM is limited to around 400mb of user app data. I tested to move the app into external sdcard but data still resides in mtdblock2. I hope this issue will be addressed on the next build. thanks.
