This post provides the download link to the Android Oreo based Lineage OS 15 for Xperia Z3 and guides through the installation process of the same.   – Here is theTWRP update guide for Xperia Z3. This recovery guide requires an unlocked bootloader on the phone.

• LineageOS 15 GApps download link ROM

Root binary is NOT inbuilt in Lineage OS ROM, so you may need a separate SuperSu package or LineageOS su binary to install to gain ROOT access. Here is Lineage OS Rooting guide
If there is no in-built ROOT or it does not work for some reason then you can try SuperSU rooting guide to enable ROOT access.

HOW TO INSTALL/DOWNLOAD/FLASH/UPDATE THE Lineage OS 15 for Xperia Z3 Oreo ROM:

Follow this if you are flashing LineageOS 15 for Xperia Z3 for the first time, or coming from another ROM:

Points to NOTE:
– Try to avoid restoring apps backup using Titanium Backup. It may break things up.
– Don’t restore system data using Titanium Backup! It will definitely break the current installation.
– It is also discouraged to Restoring Apps + Data using Titanium Backup.

• Boot into Recovery.
  Make sure to have a Custom recovery like CWM or TWRP or any other custom recovery. If not then download the recovery for Xperia Z3 from above link and follow the Custom Recovery Installation Guide (it’s a generic guide which will work for TWRP as well as CWM recovery or any other recovery)
• Wipe data factory reset, Cache partition, Dalvik Cache and Format the System partition.
  – Here is a guide explaining how to wipe data using TWRP recovery.

  This will delete all your data on your phone. You may consider complete backup of your phone data or take a NANDROID backup of the current ROM
  – How to backup all data on your Android Device
  – how to take NANDROID backup using TWRP recovery

• Download and Copy the Oreo GApps and the LineageOS 15 ROM ZIP to the phone.
• First flash the Lineage OS 15 ROM ZIP file from device. Then flash the GApps zip from your device memory.

• Then reboot into recovery (don’t skip this) and flash the Gapps for LineageOS 15 package.
  – Here is a post explaining how to flash GApps using TWRP recovery.
• Reboot and Enjoy Android Oreo with LineageOS 15 for Xperia Z3.

Upgrading from earlier version of Lineage OS 15 for Xperia Z3 (z3):

• Copy the latest Lineage OS 15 for Xperia Z3 Oreo ROM ZIP file to the phone.
• Boot into Recovery.
• Flash the ROM ZIP that you copied.

• Then flash the LineageOS 15 GApps package.

• Reboot and Enjoy

Complete the initial setup and enjoy Android Oreo 8.0 with LineageOS 15 for Xperia Z3. After the installing the LineageOS 15 ROM, you may want to enable ROOT access on your phone and here is how you can do that:

Nice! Can you post build sources?

Runs great. Very stable generally. Only three bugs (two of which may not be strictly tied to this ROM)
1. when attempting to search settings (magnifyng glass in settings) settings app crashes
2. Google streetview crashes when you zoom to a certain point, and can’t install google plus (I installed gapps micro. that may be issue with that, rather than the rom itself)
3. This may be a bug within facebook app, when at about tab, and once you choose more about Person, it sort of bugs out)

Thank you very much for this. Working almost flawlessly. Fewer bugs than with the sony stock rom.

Can confirm the problem Ashaman__ mentioned with searching the settings. It crashes the app. But aside from that I haven’t encountered any bugs (didn’t test streetview, I used the pico google apps package and haven’t installed that many apps yet)

Also, additional issue is that often times it shows mobile network is not available, and I can’t make calls, but somehow i can receive them.

hahahhha que me da error que la red movil no esta disponible , pero recivo llamadas y mensajes y los datos moviles funciona perfectamente pero las llamadas y sms no que lastima por favor reparen ese error mi modelo es el D6603

hahahhha that gives me error that the mobile network is not available, but recive calls and messages and the mobile data works perfectly but the calls and sms not hurt that please repair that error my model is the D6603

Great already works the mobile network and even works more optimized but now the problem is the wifi that does not detect anyone is as if there is no Wi-Fi network transmitting and already tested and is the system, thanks for the support and for the quick answer I hope the problem is fixed greetings

Which Version of GAPPS do you install @all? I already tried ARM, ARM64 and x86 to install on Sony Xperia Z3 and everytime i got the message: “ERROR 64: Wrong architecture to set-up Open GApps’ pre-bundles busybox”

Can somebody help me please?

Or am I wrong using the GApps Version for 8.0 and “stock” ?
