The Mi 5s (codename: capricorn) was launched with Android Marshmallow while Android Nougat was the final Android upgrade that was available.

OPTIONAL INSTALLATIONS FOR Mi 5s ANDROID PIE ROM:

Root binary is NOT inbuilt in any custom ROM. So you may need install a SuperSU or Magisk ROOT zip file.

How to Install/Update Android 9 Pie on Mi 5s:

  1. Download the TWRP recovery for Mi 5s from the downloads list.
  2. Install TWRP Recovery on Mi 5s using fastboot.

  8. Optionally, if you want ROOT on the Android Pie ROM, then restart your phone into TWRP recovery mode and install SuperSU to enable ROOT.
