Hi,
as a future owner of a Redmi 3 I am already on the lookout for a CM13 ROM. Of course I was more than happy to have found this instruction manual.
However, when I click the link to the developer’s website Shantosh (http://www.androiddevs.net/cyanogenmod-13-0-based-on-marshmallow-for-xiaomi-redmi-note-3/), it says the ROM is for the Redmi Note 3, which has a different Snapdragon CPU.
Now I am wondering if the Redmi 3 and the Redmi Note 3 can both use the same ROM, or will I brick the Redmi 3 if I try to install CM13 on it?
Thank you in advance for clearing that up! :-)
Cheers from Spain
Sascha
@Sascha, Redmi 3 and Redmi NOTE 3 are two different phones with different hardware specs. Flashing a ROM other than made for the particular device will definitely brick the phone. Redmi 3 has to be installed with a ROM meant for Redmi 3 only and the same goes for Redmi NOTE 3.
The Redmi NOTE 3 link has been removed now. Many thanks to you for pointing it out. It was added mistakenly.
@shibaa987 Thank you for clearing that up and for editing the article, removing the link that pointed to the page regarding the Note 3. However, there is an error in the URL to the download of the ROM by W@k@M@nG. It starts with “hhtps” with one “h” too many. You might want to fix that, too. Thank you once again and have a great day.
