Android 14 download is now available and we have seen some development around the same. This time it is the Android 14 for Poco F1.

Poco F1 was launched with Android 8.1 Oreo and was upgradable to Android 10; which means the Poco F1 will never receive the official MIUI Android 14 in future.

This is where the custom ROM such as this AOSP Android 14 ROM for Poco F1 is great if you have ever wished to upgrade it to the latest Android

This is guide specifically made for Poco F1. DO NOT TRY ON ANY OTHER PHONE!

You need to understand that, Installing this Android 14 AOSP ROM or any custom ROM requires advanced knowledge to modify the underlying firmware on your phone, such as you may need to unlock bootloader, custom recovery installation etc.
If not done properly it may leave your phone UNUSABLE temporarily or permanently!

How to Install Android 14 on Poco F1

Below is the step-by-step guide to install the AOSP Android 14 ROM on your Poco F1.

Before going to flash this ROM, make sure that your phone is running on the OOS 10.0.1 firmware. Different firmwares are not tested!

  • Download the AOSP Android 14 ROM for Poco F1 and copy it into the phone or keep in the PC (if you intend to install using ADB sideload)
      • Download links are available in the below download section.
  • Install Android 14 on Poco F1 using TWRP recovery or any custom recovery of your choice
  • Enter into recovery mode and Wipe data, Cache, System and system_ext.
    [Clean Flash is recommended].
    – Make sure you don’t wipe or format Internal memory here. Otherwise you will lose all your phone data!
    – Here is a step-by-step guide on how to wipe data using TWRP recovery
    – This step will erase the current firmware from the phone. You can choose to keep a backup of the relevant boot and system partition so that you can rollback if the new build doesn’t work properly.
  • Then use Apply zip from ADB (which is ADB sideload)
  • Once done, reboot the phone to boot into Android 14 on Poco F1.
  • Boot into recovery mode again and flash the Android 14 GApps using the recovery flashing method.
    • Use the ARM64 LiteGApps for now.
  • DONE

Google Camera for Poco F1 on Android 14

Google Camera APK now a days is running almost on all Android phones regardless of OEM type. You can check one of the compatible GCam APK for Poco F1 from the link given there.

How to Install Android 14 for Poco F1 APK?

Make sure that there should not be any prior version of Android 14 for Poco F1 apk already installed on your phone. If so, uninstall that before installing this one.

  1. First of all, download the Android 14 for Poco F1 APK from the above download link
  2. Install the Split APK installer app and then install the downloaded mod APK using that. (or) follow the below instructions
  3. Enable app install from Unknown Sources to install apps from a third-party app other than Google Play Store.
    To do that go to Settings and search the word unknown
    - For Android Nougat or lower version click on Unknown sources and enable that setting.
    - For Android Oreo or later, clicking on Install unknown apps which will take you to a list of apps.
    Select the actual app through which you want to install the apk of Android 14 for Poco F1.Or you can do it other way: Let's say, you have downloaded the APK file of Android 14 for Poco F1 on Google chrome or firefox browser on your phone.Go to Settings > Apps & notifications or go to Settings > search for unknown > Open the app (Chrome, Firefox or file manager app etc) > Install unknown apps and enable Allow from this source
  4. Once enabled, tap on the hack (or) mod apk file to install
