    When the phone is bricked by default it will be in the EDL mode.
    You can verify that by pressing the power button (basically turning on the phone) and connect to a Windows PC.
    Then verify under Ports > Device Manager to see a HS USB QDLoader 9008 port or something.

    Once you see this you know that the phone is in EDL mode.
    You can connect then and try flashing.

    Is there any other method given from the device manufacturer to unlock the bootloader for your phone?

    If your phone is bricked then by default it will boot into EDL mode and nothing else. If not you don’t have to worry.

    If you connect your phone to the PC and press the power button, you can see the device under Ports in Device Manager on Windows.

    Cleaning of all the above partition(s) is known as clean flash. This is must if you are flashing a new Android verison on top of the older one.

    If you do a clean flash and select a suitable TWRP to flash the ROM the chances of getting a bootloop is less.

    Every Android custom ROM by version has a TWRP compatible for it. For example to Android 10 you need to have SAR (System As Root) enabled TWRP in most of the legacy phones which was launched with Android Oreo.

    Looks like the system partition is not mounted at the time when you are flashing.

    So, you go to Mount in TWRP and there you select the system and go back to home screen.

    Then flash the ROM zip file again.

    By default all data will be wiped out on the device. The tool will also warn you before you actually unlock the bootloader.
    In fact I have added a screenshot in Step #9 about the same.

    Yes, there was a server side issue which broke the download link of the download portal.
    You should be able to download the file now.

    Make sure you download the latest file only.

    Then you have to install a stock OxygenOS firmware. You will get it on oneplus forums.
