Other Requirements to Install LineageOS 18 on LG V30
To be able to install any Android 11 ROM build on the phone, it must have an unlocked bootloader and a compatible custom recovery installed.

How to Update LG V30 to LineageOS 18 (Android 11)?
To install LineageOS 18 on a phone, it must have a custom recovery, which in turn, requires an unlocked bootloader.
This is the reason the entire installation guide is divided into three parts as below:

Install LineageOS 18 on LG V30
- Download the LineageOS 18 ROM for LG V30 and copy it into the phone or keep in the PC, if you intend to install it using ADB sideload.
- Enter into recovery mode (TWRP, Lineage or any other recovery) and then Wipe the data, Cache, System and clean Dalvik cache.
– Make sure you don’t wipe or format Internal memory here. Hi,
Since LG was shutting down their developper tools on the 31st of December, I decided it was time for me to finally install Lineage OS. Unfortunately there occured some problems however. I was hoping some of you could help me troubleshooting and possibly fixing it!
The version I wanted to install is the following version, LineageOS 18: https://cyanogenmods.org/lg-v30-lineageos-18/
The guide refers to the following guide to install TWRP, this was done succesfully: https://cyanogenmods.org/forums/topic/how-to-install-twrp-and-root-lg-v30/ . I did however lose my phone’s data, but I’ve accepted that already.
I then proceeded to following step, the flashing LineageOS step, in the guide: https://cyanogenmods.org/forums/topic/flash-install-custom-rom-twrp-recovery/
In this step a problem occured. It stated that the drive I tried to flash to was encrypted. I could flash LineageOS however I could not boot into it. I needed a password to unencrypt the data. I did not have this password (it was not my phones PIN, SIM PIN or Google account). I wanted to try the flashing process again but format the drive first (since I lost my data anyway, I didn’t really care). After formatting the system needed a reboot.
The reboot however is stuck. It always goes instantly to the 1st time boot of Lineage OS (while I haven’t reflashed yet). It just gets stuck there (I left it on overnight, still no signs of progress). I tried force rebooting using the powerkey+volumedown, that still works, but I can’t turn it completely off. Some googling shows that people suggest reflashing the Lineage OS, but that clearly doesn’t work because I can’t get into TWRP.
I am currently trying to let Lineage OS drain the battery completely and then upon fresh start up try to boot into the TWRP menu and refresh.
The model I have is the LG V30 H930 (no T-Mobile variants or whatsoever).
Some questions that I have:
1. Did I screw up my phone?
2. If 1. is “No not yet”, what are some possible solutions?
Could anyone perhaps help me out?

This thing has serious issues the play store does not work coming from open gapps. When trying to sign in to play store you get a dark black screen and it silently crashes. Also twrp in recovery gets wiped out and there is no way to access recovery on the phone unless i use fastboot, but that is too inconveient i have to involve a computer now. The default camera app has issues does not work. Wifi only works with a fix i got from XDA. The screen recorder crashes the system UI so that doesnt work.

First of all thank you @SGCMarkus for your great work to make Android 11 based on LineageOS available for the LG V30 H930!
I installed the custom ROM yesterday on my device and did a bunch of tests. Besides of the misbehavior I’ll describe below everything worked just fine! :-)
Issue1: As soon as I connect a 3.5mm jack cable with microphone the phone plays no audio at all and finally crashes (reboots by itself). On the other hand if I use a 3.5mm jack cable without microphone everything works as expected.
Issue2: This one affects audio via bluetooth. I can successfully connect to a bluetooth headset or speakers but the audio is then played with the phone’s speakers instead of the bluetooth device. In contrast to the issue above the phone does not crash as it’s the case with the 3.5mm jack cable with mic.
FYI: The issues described above did not happen on LineageOS16.1 with the same hardware.

Is there a separate build for the tmobile version (LG V30 – H932)? Would using this build cause problems?

Ideally there should be a different build. Please do not flash any other build than specifically build for your phone.
Give me some time, I will search for the h932 codename and add here if some build is available.
