How to install Vivaldi browser on Ubuntu?

Vivaldi is a new feature-rich web browser that was developed by Vivaldi Technologies, a company founded by cofounder and ex-CEO of Opera Software. It is a chromium-based browser that aims at reviving the features of presto-based Opera with its own modification.

Vivaldi has a clean user interface with simple icons and fonts, you can customize the look and feel of the browser by using a theme.

How to install Vivaldi on Ubuntu

You can easily download the Vivaldi web browser for Ubuntu from its official download page. Download the deb file and double-click on it to install it on your system.

Another way is to add the Vivaldi official repository and use the apt command to install it on your system. Now follow the steps below to install Vivaldi using this method –

First, download the repository key by using –

wget -qO- | sudo apt-key add -

Next, use the given command to add Vivaldi repository on your system –

sudo add-apt-repository "deb [arch=i386,amd64] stable main"

Use the following command to refresh the package repository –

sudo apt update

Finally, run the given command to install the Vivaldi browser on your system –

sudo apt install vivaldi-stable

Start Vivaldi on Ubuntu

Once the installation is completed you can launch Vivaldi from the Ubuntu activities dashboard. Search Vivaldi and click on the icon when it appears, as you can see in the given image.
