Samsung released the Galaxy M-series smartphones that were targetted towards the budget market. The Galaxy M40 is the most powerful among the other M-series smartphones i.e. the M10, M20, and the M30. The Galaxy M40 packs some decent specs under the hood and also has a triple camera set-up at the back. It was launched in the previous month and is priced currently at INR19,990. You also get the latest design from Samsung, the Infinity O display at the front of the device.

Samsung Galaxy M40 Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy M40 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset which is paired with 6GB of RAM which is best in class. The device has the Qualcomm Adreno 612 GPU. Talking about the internal memory, the Galaxy M40 has 128GB of internal storage capacity and you can expand the storage to 512GB via microSD card. In the display department, the device packs a 6.3-inch Full HD+ Infinity O display i.e. a punch-hole LCD panel. It boasts a screen-to-body-ratio of 91.8%. The resolution of the display is 2340×1080 with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and 409 PPI. The Galaxy M40 runs on the latest Android 9.0 Pie and over the top has Samsung’s very own OneUI.
Moreover, the device also has the support of Widevine L1 which allows the user to stream online videos via video streaming services at full resolution. It also has the Dolby Atmos 360-degree for surround sound.
In the camera department, at the back, the device has a triple camera setup with 32MP (f/1.7)+ 5MP (f/2.2)+ 8MP (ultra-wide) sensors. In the front, you get a 16MP with f/2.0 aperture. But, there are methods and solution for every smartphone that can help you to unlock your bootloader. However, you need to follow the steps very carefully in order to avoid any permanent damage caused to your device.

How To Enter the Download/Fastboot Mode on Samsung Galaxy M40
This is a very important step. If you ever want to customize your device or install custom ROMs or anything, you need to enter the Download mode/Fastboot mode on your smartphone in order to install anything on your device. Moreover, there are two different methods for entering the Download/Fastboot mode on your Samsung Galaxy M40 device;
Method 1:
- Turn OFF your device.
- Press and hold the Power button and Volume Down button together.
- Once you see the Samsung logo, release the buttons.
- A warning screen will appear on your screen.
- Press the Volume Down button once.
- That’s it! Your Samsung Galaxy M40 has booted into the Download/Fastboot mode.
Method 2:
- Turn OFF your device.
- Press and hold the Power button and Volume Up button together.
- Once you see the Samsung logo, release the buttons.
- Your device will now boot into the recovery mode.
- You will see different options, navigate and choose the “Reboot to bootloader” option.
- Press the Power button once, you see the blue bar over the “Reboot to bootloader” option.
- That’s it! Your Samsung Galaxy M40 has booted into the Download/Fastboot mode.
Pre-requisites
- Make Sure your device is charged at least 70%.
- We would advise you to use the USB cable that came in the box with the device.
- Make sure you have proper drivers installed for the Samsung Galaxy A70.
- Enable Developer Options: Go to Settings>> About device. Tap 7 times on Build number to enable Developer options.
- Enable OEM Unlock and USB debugging options: Settings>>Developer options
Steps to Unlock Bootloader on the Samsung Galaxy M40
As already mentioned above, you need to have an unlocked bootloader in order to install custom ROMs, restricted apps, etc on your device. Moreover, like every other smartphone, the bootloader of the Samsung Galaxy M40 is locked. Please follow the below steps to unlock the bootloader of the device;

- Now once the process will start, all the data on your device will be erased.
- That’s it! You have successfully unlocked the bootloader of your Galaxy M40.
You can now go ahead and root your device and install various MODs, custom ROMs or modify the firmware of your device.
