Is root needed or not needed?

    Hi,

    I have a moto g4 plus and I am trying to install lineage 15 but the documentation at https://cyanogenmods.org/forums/topic/lineageos15-moto-g4-plus-lineage-os-15-android-oreo-rom/ does make it clear if I need root or not.

    I probably dont have root in my phone cause I instaled a root checker app and it said my phone is not rooted. Howerver I already installed TWRP and the ENABLE OEM is already active in my smartphone. Is it ok to me proceed with the instalation of Lineage 15 without having root?
