Chinese smartphone manufacture, Xiaomi is working on Redmi 8 successor, called Xiaomi Redmi 9. The company expected to announce the phone on June 25th, according to reports. Now, an online retailer Lazada’s Filipino listed the phone its website and revealed the specifications, features, design and price of the phone.
According to the e-commerce website, the Xiaomi Redmi 9 comes with a waterdrop notch design that carries an 8-megapixel selfie camera. It has a 6.53-inch LCD display panel with 2340 x 1080 pixels of resolution. The body of the phone made by polycarbonate and the back panel comes with anti-fingerprint texture design.
The Redmi 9 will be powered by the Octa-Cote Helio G80 processor under the hood along with ARM Mali-G52 GPU. The phone comes in two RAM and memory variants, one with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB storage and other with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage. Both the variants come with a micro SD card slot on board.
On the back side, there are vertically placed quad-camera sensors. The main module has 13-megapixel wide-angle main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera and a 2-megapixel depth camera along. The second module has a 5-megapixel macro camera along with an LED flash. There is a fingerprint scanner placed just below the depth camera sensor.
The phone is packed with a 5020 mAh capacity battery inside the body along with an 18W fast charging charger. It expected to come with pre-installed Android 10 based MIUI 11. It also comes with AI Face Unlock, IR Blaster, dual SIM support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Redmi 9 3 GB RAM model listed on-site at PHP6,990 ($140/€125) and the 4 GB RAM Redmi 9 model listed at PHP7,490 ($150/€135) price tag. However, there is no official announcement about the phone from the company. We can expect it soon.
