Vivo used to provide only one major update for most of its smartphones. Sometimes, the brand never gives major updates for its devices. Say, for example, Vivo U10 & U20 which came with Funtouch OS 9 on top of Android 9 Pie will not receive the Funtouch OS 10 or Android 10 update. Vivo launched its Vivo V9 in 2018 which came with Funtouch OS 8.1 on top Android 8 Oreo.
Later, the brand updated the device into Funtouch OS 9 on top of Android 9 Pie. There were reports that the V9 will receive the new Android 10 update. In fact, there were reports regarding the internal testing of the same. But, it seems that the brand is no more interested in providing the update. In connection with this, the Vivo V9 Youth will not receive the Funtouch OS 10 aKa Android 10 update. It is because of the compatibility issues happening with the device.
Unfortunately, there is no news regarding the Android 10 update of V9. To compensate for the Android 10 update, Vivo has started pushing the July 2020 security patch for the device. Apart from the security patch, there are several optimizations for the device. Some of the major fixes include Bluetooth and Dark Mode. The new update comes with the version number 6.13.1.
