The Role-Playing Game for Mobile Devices That Comes the Most Closely Resembling One Played with Pen and Paper
Storytelling that will keep you on the edge of your seat requires you to make thousands of story-changing decisions rather than reading walls of text. There are repercussions to every decision.
In the world of Illyria, you play the role of Lord Elric, a disgraced lord who has been framed for the murder of his family. Elric must round up his comrades, lead a team consisting of warriors and anti-heroes, and bring down an empire in order to either exact his vengeance or gain atonement. He is being pursued by assassins at every turn.
Tales of Illyria is a hybrid role-playing game that combines journey management and choose your own adventure gameplay elements. Each member of the party have a unique personality and responds in a particular way when they are ill, when they run out of supplies, or when decisions are made that go against their alignment.
Will you satisfy the troll’s hunger, or will you try to drive it away? Are you willing to rob a caravan in order to obtain valuable gold? What antidote will you administer to a man who has the Black Death?
The initial instalment of the series, titled Tales of Illyria: Fallen Knight, can be found here. Every episode is its own stand-alone role-playing game.
