Samsung today announced the lighter version of their flagship Tab S6, the Tab S6 Lite at a price of ₹ 27,999 for WiFi Only whereas ₹ 31,999 for WiFi+Cellular. It’s directly competing against the iPad 7th Generation which is priced a little higher at ₹ 29,999 and comes with 32gb storage instead of 64gb found on tab S6 Lite.
Display & Build
It comes with a 10.4-inch TFT (not amoled found on regular Tab S6) with 2000 x 1200 pixels resolution that gives it a pixel density of 223 PPI! The bezels are pretty slim and gives it a screen to body ratio of around 81.6%, display is pretty good but it lacks when compared to iPad 10.2 which is much brighter and sharper to look at. It comes with an aluminium body, glass to the front and aluminium frame. It weighs at around 467g and is pretty sleek at 7mm. There is also no fingerprint authentication in this device.
Internals
The Tab S6 is powered by the 10nm Exynos 9611 which is an Octa-core chip with four powerful 2.3 GHz Cortex-A73 and four energy efficient 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53. Mali-G72 MP3 handles the graphics in the Tab S6 Lite. The chip is fairly good and was earlier used in phones like Samsung Galaxy A50 and the current M31, though it’s not enough to compete with the Apple’s A10 fusion found in the iPad 10.2 which just dominates the Tab S6 in any task.
Coming to the cameras there’s nothing fancy. It comes with a 8MP back camera, a 5MP front camera and both can shoot upto 1080P at 60fps(the quality is good enough for your social media apps). It also comes with stereo speakers which are tuned by AKG and sound pretty good for their size.
Software & Features
It comes with the latest one UI 2.0 which is based on android 10.Tab S6 Lite comes with a stylus which is free of cost and included inside the retail box unlike the more expensive iPad 10.2. S-Pen stylus is great for scribbling, taking notes and is the cheapest Samsung Galaxy tablet equipped with such a stylus. It comes with a microSD slot which can be used to expand the internal storage which maxes out at 128 gb. The bluetooth 5.0 along with a USB type C are pretty important benefits over other tablets in similar price segments.
Conclusion
If you are looking for an android tablet under 30K, then there is no better deal than the Tab S6 lite at ₹ 27,999 but if you don’t care about the OS just go for iPad 10.2 (or 7th Generation) as it offers much better display, processor and a touch-id sensor to the front!
