Redmi 7A starts receiving Android 10 update!

Redmi’s “A” series smartphones are the budget devices from the brand which offer great value. The brand launched its Redmi 7A in 2019, and it became one top of the top-selling smartphone in its range. The device was launched with MIUI 10 on top of Android 9 Pie. Later in 2019 itself, the brand updated the device to MIUI 11 on top of the same Android 9 Pie. Now, the brand is rolling out a new update for the device which is MIUI 11 on top of Android 10.

It is surprising that Xiaomi seldom rollouts Android updates for its budget devices. Although, these devices will receive MIUI updates. The new update comes with an updated security patch, and as usual with many features. We all thought that the brand stopped working on MIUI 11 updates. But things are different, Xiaomi is working on the same to improve the performance of its lower-end smartphones.

The new update i.e. MIUI 11 on top of Android 10 is rolling out as OTA in India. Those who can’t wait for OTA can download the recovery rom. How to manually install the update on your Redmi 7A

• Please ensure that you’ve at least 30% of battery,
• Download, and copy the recovery rom to the root storage.
• Go to Settings then to about phone, and click on system updates.
• Now tap on the three-dots menu which can be seen in the top right corner.
• Select choose update package option, and browse the firmware which you have downloaded.
• Then, the device will start updating your device into Android 10.
