OPPO A72 5G : A Budget 5G Phone?

Oppo launched its A72 smartphone in April 2020 and it was a success so now Oppo has launched its 5G variant with many upgrades, we are looking at many differences between the 4G and 5G variants.

Display

The Oppo A72 5G runs ColorOS 7.2 and features a 6.5-inch full-HD+LCDs display which is a big display but not too big, so it is also comfortable in your hand. It has a resolution of 1,080×2,400 pixels and it has a refresh rate of 90Hz which makes the phone smoother and playing games is more fun with a higher refresh as it gives a better gaming experience. The OPPO A72 also had a 6.5-inch display but it had the refresh rate of 60Hz.

Camera

On the back , the new  Oppo A72 has a triple camera setup with 16-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel black and white camera. They are arranged in a square module that also houses the flash. The camera is pretty good, but it is a downgrade from the 4G variant as it had a 5 camera setup at the back which clicked great pictures. On the front, it has a 16 MP punch hole camera setup for selfies.

Performance

The phone is powered by a MediaTek processor instead of the Snapdragon 665  which was found in the A72 4G variant. The 5G A72 operates on the Android 10 operating system and is powered by a Dimensity 720 SoC processor which is a better than the Snapdragon 665 and it is also way faster but hits the battery life a little.

Battery

Unlike the A72 that comes with a 5,000 mAh battery, the A72 5G has a battery of 4,040 mAh which is not enough for the day because A72 5G has a powerful processor which consumes more battery and it also has a higher refresh rate of 90Hz which reduces the battery life, it should have had at least a 5,000 mAh battery. It comes with an 18W charger which will charge the phone completely in around 90 mins.

Conclusion

Oppo A72 5G is available with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and it is priced at CNY 1,899 (₹20,300 approx). Oppo A72 5G comes with a lot of upgrades and it might be the cheapest 5G phone with these specs, it comes in 3 colors Neon, Oxygen Violet, and Simple Black.
