OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro launched with SD865, Wireless charging and 5G

Finally, OnePlus introduced the most awaited phone of 2020 after several leaks and rumors. The company announced OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro smartphones at an online event. Both the smartphones are flagship and come with high-end specs and features. 

Let’s take a look at OnePlus 8 and OnePlus specifications, features, design, processor, camera and others. 

OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro Design and Display

OnePlus’s 8 and 8 Pro smartphone comes with a similar design as the last year OnePlus 7T Pro smartphone. Both the smartphones have glass panels on both front and back sides along with the aluminum frames. 

The body dimensions of the OnePlus 8 are 160.2 x 72.9 x 8 mm (6.31 x 2.87 x 0.31 in) and weighs180 g (6.35 oz). While the 8 Pro body dimensions are 165.3 x 74.4 x 8.5 mm (6.51 x 2.93 x 0.33 in) and weighs 199 g (7.02 oz). 

On the right side, there is a power button and an iconic alert slider, micro USB Type-C port at the bottom. Unfortunately, there is no 3.5 mm audio jack port. The OnePlus 8 features a splash-resistant while the OnePlus 8 Pro has IP68 water and dust resistance certification. 

Oneplus’s 8 pro has quad-camera sensors on the backside of the phone while the standard model has only triple-camera rear camera sensors. Both the smartphones will available in Glacial Green, Ultramarine Blue and Onyx Black color options. The basic model of the OnePlus 8 series has one more color Interstellar Glow. 

OnePlus’s Pro model features a 6.78-inch Fluid AMOLED display panel with 3168 x 1440 pixels of resolutions and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The phone also supports 240 Hz touch sampling rate and HDR10+. The phone features a MEMC chip which can interpolate 24fps video to 120fps for videos and games. 

OnePlus 8 has 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display panel with  2400 x 1080p resolutions with 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen of the phone offers only a 90HZ refresh rate and supports HDR10+. 

OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro Processor and Memory

OnePlus 8 Series smartphones powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 (7 nm+) Processor under the hood. On the board, the OnePlus 8 has LPDDR4X 8 GB and 12 GB of RAM while the OnePlus 8 Pro has LPDDR5 8 GB and 12 GB of RAM. Both the smartphones have the same 128GB and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. 

OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro Camera

OnePlus’s 8 Pro model has quad rear cameras along with LED flash. The configurations of the phone are 48-megapixel Sony IMX689 sensor main camera, 48-megapixel IMX586 ultrawide camera, 8-megapixel camera telephoto camera and 5-megapixel depth camera. The rear camera of the phone is capable to record video in 4K quality at 60fps. It also comes with both Optical and Electronic image stabilization features. 

While the OnePlus 8 has only triple cameras on the back. The 48-megapixel IMX586 Sony Sensor main camera, 16-megapixel ultrawide camera and 2-megapixel macro camera. It also comes with Optical and Electronic image stabilization features.

For selfies, both the phones featured with a 16-megapixel camera. 

OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro Battery and Others

OnePlus 8 packed with Non-removable Li-Po 4300 mAh battery inside the body. While the Pro model has a slightly bigger Non-removable Li-Po 4510 mAh battery battery. Both the smartphone supports the 30W wired fast charging feature. The OnePlus 8 Pro also comes with a 30W wireless charging feature and 3W Reverse wireless charging feature. 

Both the smartphones run on OxygenOS 10.0 operating system which based on Android 10. They have an under-display fingerprint scanner. Both the phones support the 5G connectivity feature. 

OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro Price and availability

OnePlus 8 with 8 GB RAM and 128 storage model will available at $700/£599 price tag. The 12 GB RAM OnePLus 8 model will available at an $800/£699 price tag. The 8 Pro model will available at $899/£799 price tag and 12 GB RAM model will available at $999/£899 price tag. 

The OnePlus 8 series smartphones will be available on Verizon in the US market. In North America, it will go on sale on April 29th. While in the European market, the phones are already available for pre-booking and will go on sale on April 21st.
